I'm a complete beginner, never touched a kite before, can I book with you?
Yes! 90% of our clients are beginners.
Do I need any previous skills to take lessons?
You need to swim and be comfortable in deep water.
How long it takes to learn to kitesurf?
Around 3 hours to get to the board stage. Between 9 to 12 hours to be independent. The course is split in 3 or 4 days, 3 hours per day. (This is average. Every student is different.) CHECK OUR FULL STEP PROGRAM >
How long are the lessons?
We usually teach a maximum of 3 hours per day.
Can I take less than a 3-hour lesson?
Yes, you can. You can stop the lessons at any time. No need to finish 3 hours/day. You would be charged just for the real-time of the lessons you take.
Can I join a group for lessons?
We don't organize group lessons. Group lessons are for couples, friends, or families who come together.
Why are group lessons just with one kite?
Because our beach conditions do not allow to have one instructor focused on two students with two kites flying. In the group lessons, our students share one kite while learning.

I can ride but need more lessons. Can I take lessons and rent equipment after?
Yes, after your lessons, one of our instructors will determine if you can kite safely and independently. Then you can rent gear from us.
The price of lessons is different if I bring my gear?
No, the price is the same. We charge for the time of our instructors.
How many hours can I book in one day?
We recommend 3 hours per day for beginners. If you already have experience and want to learn and practice as much as possible, you can book more hours (i.e., 2 shifts of 3 hours).
Can you come to my hotel to teach me?
Preferably not. All our kite permits and all the material we may need are at Ahau Tulum, where lessons take place. Not all the hotels are kite friendly, so we need to be respectful and kite in our zone.

When am I ready for Strapless Lessons?
In general, when you can kite with a twin-tip comfortably in both directions, because in strapless kitesurfing, you won’t be attached to the board, being harder to stay on, keep balanced, and control the kite at the same time.
How long it takes to learn strapless wave-riding?
It depends on your previous kite skills and what your strapless goals are.
An intermediate kiteboarder can learn to ride a strapless surfboard with just 1 or 2 lessons.
But if you are looking to master the wave riding or some strapless tricks, more lessons and a lot of practice on your own would be needed.
When am I ready for Foil Kitesurfing?
We recommend with foil when you can kitesurf proficiently. Hydrofoil kiteboarding is extremely tricky and can't be attempted by a novice.
How many hydrofoil lessons should I take?
We advise taking at least 2 sessions of 3 hours each to ride confidently.
Is hydrofoil equipment provided?
Yes, we'll provide all the necessary equipment, including helmet and impact best, at no extra cost.
Can you come to my hotel for lessons?
Preferably not. All our kite permits and all the material we may need are at Ahau Tulum, where lessons take place. Not all the hotels are kite friendly, so we need to be respectful and kite in our zone.
